Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti and actress Eva Longoria spoke at the ceremony in front of the Capitol Records building. Selena's sister, Suzette Quintanilla, accepted the star.

The Tejano singing star was shot and killed on March 31, 1995, by Yolanda Saldivar, the president of her fan club.

Selena’s star is the 2,622nd to be unveiled since the completion of the Walk of Fame in 1961 with the first 1,558 stars, KFMB reported.

Born Selena Quintanilla on April 16, 1971, in Lake Jackson, Texas, Selena began her career in music in 1980 as the lead of the family band “Selena y Los Dinos,” with her siblings A.B. and Suzette.

Selena began recording professionally in 1982 and won the first of 10 consecutive female vocalists of the year awards at the Tejano Music Awards in 1986.

Selena's best-known songs include “Bid, Bid Bom Bom,” “Dreaming of You,” “No Me Queda Mas,” “Amor Prohibido” and “Como La Flor.”

The ceremony was the first at night since Feb. 8, 2010, when a star honoring Beatles drummer Ringo Starr was unveiled, said Leron Gubler, president and CEO of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, which administers the Walk of Fame.

“Ricochet: David Bowie 1983” will showcase the pictures British photographer Denis O’Regan and will be published by Moonlight Books. Only 2,000 copies will be produced, The Guardian reported.

The photographs all come from Bowie’s 1983 Serious Moonlight tour for his album “Let’s Dance.” Bowie played at nearly 100 venues in 15 countries, beginning his tour in Brussels, Belgium, and ending it in Hong Kong.

O’Regan recalled telling Bowie that it was seeing the Ziggy Stardust concert at the Hammersmith Odeon in 1973 that inspired him to take up rock photography, The Guardian reported“Being David, he wasn’t very good at taking compliments. I said: ‘It’s because of you that I became a rock photographer.’ He said: ‘Yeah, you’ll probably tell Bono the same thing tomorrow night.’”The book will contain memorabilia that includes handwritten lyrics, tickets, set lists, three large limited-edition prints and a 12-inch picture disc of “Ricochet” and “Let’s Dance.”

Bowie had intended to sign the book before his death in January 2016. Bowie and O’Regan sifted through nearly 20,000 photographs from the tour, The Guardian reported.

“It is our distinct pleasure to welcome the Pixies to the stage for this tour,” according to a news post on Weezer’s official site. “Weezer’s origin was in fact very closely linked to the Pixies – no other band had the impact they did on the band’s early sound. He took on a defiant tone that resonated with the 7,000 fans in attendance, reported.

“I'll be damned if I'm going to let anyone scare me,” Aldean told the crowd, which gathered in Champions Square.

As if to emphasize the point, Aldrean sang the late Tom Petty's “I Won't Back Down,” which energized the crowd into a sing-along of defiance, reported.

Aldean said proceeds from the sale of his cover of the song will be donated to aid victims of the Las Vegas shooting.

Aldean admitted to the crowd that “It’s been a crazy few weeks,” explaining how he thought it would be tough to play an outdoor venue after he and his band members were forced to flee the stage at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas on Oct. 1 as shots rained down from a hotel window.

But “the craziest thing is,” he said, was that playing music “is where we're the most comfortable.”

Children were present when the two filmed the video at Douglas County High School last month, according to WSB.

A district official told the news station the stars had permission to film at the school for the MTV horror series “Scream,” not to shoot the rap video.

“I can’t believe they did that at school,” parent Francis Glass told WSB.

Glass said she thought Palmer, who has starred in stage, television and movie productions such as “Akeelah and the Bee,” always carried herself with class.

“And this is not class,” Glass said. “Oh no. That's trashy.”

The video has been viewed more than 6 million times.
