Bootlegger's Union

Frontman Joe Rentie belts it out as the lead singer and rhythm guitarist while being backed by a high class, fret-burning lead guitarist named Joe Spring. Those two would be worthless without the stick slinging drummer, Josh Fox.  Bootlegger's Union is a country cover band putting their own twist on old and new songs you know and love.  More at https://www.facebook.com/BootleggersUnion/info?tab=page_info.

Koven

Koven is fronted by singer/songwriter Robby VanVekoven who also plays rhythm guitar.  They are a rockin' country and southern rock band based in McAlester, OK playing mostly songs you know by your favorite artists, but also a few of their own originals. The rest of the band includes Ben Thomas (Lead Guitar/Back up Vocals), Michael Roberson (Drums/Back up Vocals), and Steve Dunigan (Bass Guitar).  More at https://www.facebook.com/kovenband?ref=br_tf.

FM Pilots

Formed in the summer of 2010, the FM Pilots' immediate chemistry allowed them to successfully break their self-titled EP in the fall of that year, which was quickly embraced by local radio and even gained national exposure via digital radio services such as Pandora Radio. Hard work, a strong following and an increasing buzz has landed them spots on Vans Warped Tour, showcases during SXSW, Center of the Universe Festival, Chevy Music Showcase, and even given them a chance to play next to notable acts such as OneRepublic, Hot Chelle Rae, Neon Trees, MUTEMATH, OK GO, Meyer Hawthorne, AWOLNATION, Young The Giant, Cold War Kids, Twenty One Pilots, and many others. Locally, the band has won the title of "2013 Absolute Best Rock/Pop" from Urban Tulsa Weekly. The band has gained attention from KMYZ (104.5 FM), KMOD (97.5 FM), KHITS (106.9 FM), KRSC (91.3 FM), KTUL 8, CW 12/19, KOTV 6, KWTV 9, FOX 23, Urban Tulsa Weekly and have also been promoted heavily by Tulsa's rock station Z104.5 The Edge on their 2010, 2011 & 2012 Homegroan CD. You can find FM Pilots at all major digital retailers such as iTunes, Amazon and Rhapsody, or grab physical CDs from their official website (http://fmpilotsmusic.com).

In 2015, the band released their newest singe/music video, "Start Up", which was selected for rotation in 700+ UK establishments on the first day of release. The group is currently writing new material for their upcoming album and working on securing regional support slots in addition to the existing dates they already have booked throughout 2015. The band stays active with their fans using Facebook at facebook.com/fmpilots. The band is Nick Whitaker (Lead Vocals, Guitar), Joshua Kephart (Lead Guitar, Vocals), Joe Blanck (Drums), and Cody David (Bass).

Tears for Fears at the Brady Theater

Essential 80’s band Tears for Fears will rock the Brady Theater on Tuesday, June 16th. Tickets for the concert will go on sale Friday, March 27th at 10am. Tickets can be purchased online at bradytheater.com, at Starship Records and all Reasor’s Location. Tickets may also be purchased by phone at 866-977-6849. Begining 3/27 at 10am tickets can be purchased at ProTixonline.com

An omnipresent fixture in the early days of music video, Tears For Fears brought Orzabal and Smith into the pop music spotlight via their 1983 debut album The Hurting, a sophisticated collection of inward-looking, electro-tinged pop songs including “Mad World” (recently covered to enormous international success by Gary Jules on the “Donnie Darko” soundtrack), “Pale Shelter” and “Change,” all Top 10 hits in the band’s British homeland. The Bath-based duo, longtime friends and prior members of youthful band Graduate, never anticipated the even greater success that would greet them next, however. 1985’s Songs From The Big Chair was an international sensation, boasting three Top 5 singles in the U.S. alone (dual No. 1’s “Everybody Wants To Rule The World” and “Shout,” and “Head Over Heels”) and catapulting the pair to superstardom.

Brandi Carlile at Cain’s Ballroom (Postponed)

The Brandi Carlile Show has been postponed for tonight due to Carlile having  laryngitis. For more information visit Cainsballroom.com

Americana rocker Brandi Carlile will bring her Firewatcher’s Daughter tour to the Cain’s Ballroom on Wednesday, June 3rd. Tickets for the concert will go on sale Friday, February 27th at 10am. Tickets can be purchased at the Cain’s Box Office and by phone at 877-4-FLYTIX or online at www.cainsballroom. $1 per ticket will be donated to a charity of Brandi's choice.

“Everyone needs to be risking something,” says Seattle-based singer-songwriter Brandi Carlile. She’s discussing the M.O. behind The Firewatcher’s Daughter, her stunning new release – her first for artist-friendly indie label ATO. The 12-song collection marks a triumphant return after a three-year recording hiatus, and her strongest, most rock & roll album to date. “Rock & roll music as a genre always has a sense of erratic recklessness to it,” she says. “It can’t really be rehearsed – in fact, rehearsal can kill it. On this album, each song has its honest rock & roll moment, even the ballads; it’s between the point where you’ve learned the song enough to get through it, but you don’t have any control over it yet.” Since her heralded, genre-defying 2005 Columbia debut, Carlile and her indispensable collaborators, Tim and Phil Hanseroth, aka The Twins, have always offered listeners both control and abandon, often within a single song. The most well-known Brandi Carlile tunes, 2007’s “The Story” and 2012’s “That Wasn’t Me,” are dynamic journeys in themselves, encompassing myriad emotions and varied stylistic touches; “The Story” morphs from understated balladry to epic stadium rock, while “That Wasn’t Me” effortlessly straddles country soul and pop gospel. Infused with Carlile’s clarion voice, The Twins’ tight sibling harmonies, and stellar musicianship from everyone, it all simply sounds like Brandi Carlile.

About Drew Holcomb & The Neighbors

Some artists are able to articulate a vision at the very beginning of their career, while others hone their craft over time, growing into their vision as they mature.  "I am definitely in the latter category," explains Drew Holocomb, a Tennessee-born, duck hunting, French speaking, bourbon drinking, 1st edition book collecting, golf playing Eagle Scout with a Masters degree in Divinity from Scotland's University of St Andrews (he wrote his dissertation on "Springsteen and American Redemptive Imagination") who has spent the better part of the past decade as a professional musician -- recording, writing, and touring with his band Drew Holcomb & The Neighbors.  Since releasing their first album, 2005's "Washed In Blue," Drew & The Neighbors (Ellie Holcomb, Nathan Dugger, Rich Brinsfield) have established themselves as a formidable indie act, selling more than 75,000 records, playing more than 1,500 live dates, selling-out headline shows, and touring alongside such varied acts as The Avett Brothers, Ryan Adams, Los Lobos, NEEDTOBREATHE, Susan Tedeschi, North Mississippi Allstars, Marc Broussard, and more. Their songs have been used in countless television shows and commercials, most notably in TNT's Emmy Award winning 2011 Christmas Day "NBA Forever" spot, which paired the song "Live Forever" with a mesmerizing montage of past and present NBA video footage.  The hard work has paid off with the band's sixth album "Good Light" showcasing Drew's signature brand of singer/songwriter Americana in its finest form yet. Recorded live at Ardent Studios in Memphis, "Good Light" arrives shortly following Drew's 30th birthday and the birth of his first child, daughter Emmylou (named for -- you guessed it -- Emmylou Harris), with wife and band-mate Ellie Holcomb. I think about my daughter every time I sing the title track, how I want to sing it over her when she is old enough to start understanding the world of truth and consequence," says the Memphis native who now calls Nashville home.  "This album perfectly tells the story for a new stage in my life," explains Drew "On past albums I was searching for my voice, both literally and figuratively. I co-wrote a lot of songs, peppered the music with too many influences, and let too many other voices in my head."

http://youtu.be/IJAdBBvuUv8 With this album, Drew dedicated himself to the process of songwriting, stripping away extra layers, ridding himself of past boundaries and expectations. He wrote more than 40 songs for "Good Light," mostly alone on his 1934 Gibson Archtop, eventually whittling the selections down to a final 12 tracks.  Drawing from personal experience to craft songs that speak to all of us, Drew explores the universal need to find meaning and joy in the midst of heartbreak and disappointment throughout "Good Light." The last song on the album Tomorrow opens with the lyric, 'Nothing ever turns out like you thought it would.' It's a theme that permeates the album.  "I have been through really difficult things," Drew continues. "When I was 17, I lost my younger brother, and have lived through the grief of that great absence. On the other hand, I have experienced the joy of being married to the girl I always wanted, and have been loved really well by her... Everyone has all these different ingredients; our geography, our family, our interests, the places we have been and the places we long to see, the loves we have found and the loves we have lost. Each of us has a story, and it's the only one we can tell. With this album I'm telling my story, in the hope that it helps other people tell theirs."
