An Evening of Wine and Roses

An Evening of Wine & Roses returns on Sept. 25, 2015, and promises an enchanting summer night under the stars. The event features more than 180 wines and spirits along with appetizers and desserts from 40 Tulsa restaurants in a beautiful Midsummer Night’s Dream setting. Guests can sample various wines, spirits, hors d’oeuvres and sweets in the historic Tulsa Municipal Rose Garden. A limited number of tickets will be sold.This year’s event showcases the much anticipated renovation of Tier 1 of the Tulsa Rose Garden featuring lighting, ADA accessible features and improved walkways. Over 250 replacement roses have been planted with additional plantings of complimentary plants scheduled for Fall and early Spring.An Evening of Wine & Roses offers two distinct events. The Premier Tasting, held in the mansion, is set for 6 :00pm to 7:30pm, and offers top wines and food from Tulsa’s finest chefs. Tickets are $150 each or are included in sponsor packages. All Premier Tasting guests can also attend the Garden Tasting, set for 7:00pm to 9:30pm in the rose garden. Tickets for the Garden Tasting event are $85 for the general public or $70 for garden center members.This is the primary annual fundraiser for the Tulsa Garden Center, and all proceeds benefit our educational programs. Reservations are required for An Evening of Wine & Roses and space is limited. The reservation deadline is Sept. 18, 2015, and attendees must be 21 years old to attend. Event website HERE.Every year, on the first Friday and Saturday of May, Washington Irving Memorial Park in Bixby is transformed into the largest BBQ festival in all of Oklahoma. It's two days of the State’s best Barbeque and music all rolled into one.  The festival is a community fundraiser created by the Rotary Club of Bixby.

The Rotary Club of Bixby used funds from past festivals to build the Rotary Club of Bixby Amphitheater which is located in Washington Irving Memorial Park.Proceeds from the first festival enabled the Club to present Bixby Public Schools with a large electronic marquee sign, complete with a digitized message board. Located on Memorial Drive, the sign promotes school activities from PTA meetings to athletic events.

KCBS Sanctioned BBQ EventThis is the largest BBQ event in Oklahoma with 90+ teams expected to compete for $12,000 in prize money.   Entry Fee $45 per category.

Kids ZoneThis festival could easily be called the BBQ'n Family Festival. A large area within the festival is dedicated to family fun again this year.Topping the list will be numerous inflatable jumpers available at $10.00 per child for an all day pass. Plans include a petting zoo and a trackless train ride and pony rides.The festival promises to provide a venue of family fun, food and relaxation. Proceeds from the festival return to the community through The Rotary Club of Bixby.
