Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical at the PAC

 The Grinch broke box office records for two consecutive years on Broadway during its holiday engagements at the St. James (2007) and Hilton (2006) theatres in New York. Since then, thousands of families across America have been delighted by this heart-warming holiday musical, which The New York Times praised as “100 times better than any bedside story” and the Gannett papers hailed as “A genius of a show! A total delight for both kids and adults.”

 Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical featuresthe hit songs "You're A Mean One Mr. Grinch" and "Welcome Christmas” (written by Albert Hague and Dr. Seuss) from the original animated series. Max the Dog narrates as the mean and scheming Grinch, whose heart is "two sizes too small," decides to steal Christmas away from the Holiday loving Whos. Magnificent sets (John Lee Beatty) and costumes (Robert Morgan) inspired by Dr. Seuss’ original illustrations help transport audiences to the whimsical world of Whoville, while the Music and Book of Mel Marvin and Timothy Mason breathe new life into this timeless story of the true meaning of Christmas. The 2012 production is directed by Matt August and choreographed by Bob Richard based on the original choreography by John DeLuca and originally created by 3-time Tony Award® winning director, Jack O’Brien.

 Welcomed by Bank of Oklahoma, Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical comes to the Tulsa Performing Arts Center for ten performances only November 4-9. The performance schedule is Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday Evenings at 7:30 p.m., Friday at 8 p.m., Saturday at 11 a.m., 2 p.m., 5 p.m. and 8 p.m., Sunday at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Tickets go on sale Monday, October 6 at 10 a.m. and may be purchased online at www.MyTicketOffice.com, in person at the Tulsa PAC Box Office, or by calling 918.596.7111 or 800.364.7111. Celebrity Attractions and the Independent Presenters Network is delighted to announce that casting for the 2014 national tour of JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR® DREAMCOAT is complete. Directed and choreographed by Tony® Award-winner Andy Blankenbuehler, the new tour comes to Tulsa Performing Arts Center April 1-6. Tickets are ON SALE NOW.As previously announced, Broadway and television star Diana DeGarmo (Narrator) and Broadway star Ace Young (Joseph) will head up the cast, which features Paul Castree as Simeon, William Thomas Evans as Jacob/Potiphar, Brian Golub as Reuben, Will Mann as Judah and Ryan Williams as Pharaoh.  Husband-and-wife team Ace Young and Diana DeGarmo first met when they shared the Broadway stage in the 2009 revival of HAIR.  “I am so excited to star as ‘Joseph’ alongside Diana,” said Ace.  “It’s great to be back! I too am so excited to star alongside Ace in the very role I once looked up to years ago as a child in the choir,” added Diana.One of the most enduring shows of all time, JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR® DREAMCOAT is the irresistible family musical about the trials and triumphs of Joseph, Israel’s favorite son.  The first collaboration of composer Andrew Lloyd Webber (Jesus Christ Superstar, The Phantom of the Opera, Cats) and lyricist Tim Rice (Jesus Christ Superstar, Disney’s The Lion King), JOSEPH blends pop, country and rock into an uplifting, technicolored story of Biblical proportions.  

Retelling the Biblical story of Joseph, his 11 brothers and the coat of many colors, this magical musical is full of unforgettable songs including Those Canaan Days, Any Dream Will Do and Close Every Door.
