KRMG's Give Something That Means Something Holiday Blood Drive

to Benefit the American Red Cross

KRMG invites you to give one last gift this holiday season at the eighth annual Tulsa holiday blood drive.

The American Red Cross is asking area residents to be part of something meaningful this holiday season by giving blood at the eighth annual Tulsa Holiday Blood Drive.

To help ensure patients everywhere have the blood products they need this winter, the Red Cross, KRMG and FOX23 will host the annual drive on Dec. 22- 23. As a thank you to Tulsa-area residents who put donating blood at the top of their holiday to-do list, all presenting donors will also receive a long-sleeve Red Cross T-shirt.

“We believe so much in our community; the charitable spirit runs very high,” said Levi May, Director of Branding and Programming for NEWS102.3 and AM740 KRMG. “KRMG has partnered, once again, with the Red Cross right here in Tulsa, to help spread a giving message, and with your help, actions that saves lives.”

Give Something that Means Something Tulsa Holiday Blood Drive

Dec. 22- 23 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Tulsa Blood Donation Center, 10151 E. 11th St.

Dec. 22- 23 from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Sears Court, Woodland Hills Mall, 7021 S. Memorial Dr.

The Holiday Blood Drive comes at an important time for the Red Cross because fewer donations are made this time of year due to holiday activities, travel, winter weather and seasonal illnesses. Blood donors with all types, especially AB, O, B negative and A negative, are encouraged to give.

It is recommended to schedule an appointment for the Tulsa Holiday Blood Drive by visiting redcrossblood.org, calling 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or downloading the Red Cross Blood Donor App.

Blood donors can now save time at their next donation by using RapidPass to complete their pre-donation reading and health history questionnaire online, on the day of their donation, prior to arriving at the blood drive. To get started, visit redcrossblood.org/RapidPass and follow the instructions on the site.

How to donate blood

A blood donor card or driver’s license or two other forms of identification are required at check-in. Individuals who are 17 years of age (16 with parental consent in some states), weigh at least 110 pounds and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood. High school students and other donors 18 years of age and younger also have to meet certain height and weight requirements.
