Proceeds are for the benefit of Akdar Shriners activities. Payments are not deductible as charitable contributions.
Akdar Shriners is an organization that attracts men from all walks of life: truck drivers, dentists, contractors, heads of state, movie stars, generals, clergymen, accountants, and others. Shriners share a Masonic heritage: each is a Master Mason in the Freemasonry Fraternity and Freemasonry is the oldest and the largest fraternal order in the world. It is a universal brotherhood of men dedicated to serving God, family, fellowman, and country.
There are approximately 310,000 Shriners worldwide with more than 1,500 members in the Akdar Shrine Center in Northeast Oklahoma. Shriners gather in one of 195 Shrine Centers, or chapters, throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, The Philippines, The Republic of Panama, and Europe.
The Shrine Circus is a vital institution bringing quality entertainment to over 120 cities each year. The first Shrine Circus each year is usually in Flint, Michigan in January. Then there is at least one Shrine Circus each week until late November.
The circus and the Shrine are a natural combination. Shriners are fun-loving men devoted to raising money to support their cause, and the circus is an institution designed specifically to entertain -- with a bent toward children. In fact many Shrine Circuses include Shriners as clowns and musicians. Shriners also have a great deal of fun participating in parades and other community events in many towns around and in Tulsa.
If you are interested in enjoying the great fellowship that comes with membership as an Akdar Shriner, please see our website HERE or call our Shrine Center at 918-836-2500. We are located at 2808 South Sheridan Road in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
