Blood Donors Get Tulsa Drillers Tickets At All-American Event – June 27
Oklahoma Blood Institute (OBI) and the Tulsa Drillers are urging everyone 16* and older to make blood donation part of their summer traditions. Two tickets to the Tulsa Drillers July 18th game and fireworks extravaganza will be given to each person attending the All-American blood drive Friday, June 27.
The All-American blood drive will occur from 5 to 9:30 p.m. at ONEOK Field. Each blood donor will also receive an OBI zoo-themed T-shirt and two free tickets to the Tulsa Zoo.
One lucky donor will win a Tulsa Drillers’ party platform for 20 people including a classic ball park menu for the July 28th game. Plus, all donors will be entered to win a Reasor’s $50 gift card and four tickets to Frontier City.
Oklahoma Blood Institute hopes this event will inspire area residents to show their patriotic spirit by giving blood in support of the July 4th holiday, when blood donation typically declines.
“Holidays are a time for celebration, but most people don’t realize they are a time of vulnerability for the state’s blood supply,” said John Armitage, M.D., Oklahoma Blood Institute president and CEO. “We are grateful for all donors who can take time before holidays to help Oklahomans who will need blood now and through the summer.”
Oklahoma Blood Institute is the ninth largest, non-profit blood center in America, providing every drop of blood needed by patients in 150 medical facilities across Oklahoma, including Saint Francis Health System, Cancer Treatment Center of America and Tulsa Life Flight.
Donations can be made every 56 days. Those who are generally in good health can likely donate blood. To make an appointment call 1-877-340-8777 or schedule online at www.obi.org.
