The Fab Four at River Spirit Event Center

The Fab Four

Saturday Feb. 15th at River Spirit Event Center— Get back and relive the excitement of “Beatlemania” when Fab Four – The Ultimate Tribute perform at the Event Center at River Spirit Saturday, February 15 at 7 PM. Their performance at River Spirit is just six days after the 50th anniversary of the Beatles’ first live performance on the “Ed Sullivan Show.”

“The Fab Four’s performance is a must-see for every Beatles’ fan,” said General Manager, Jerry Floyd. “And the Event Center is the perfect venue to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Beatles’ first live performance on American television.”

The Fab Four take their audience on a musical journey, beginning with the Beatles’ legendary U.S. debut on the “Ed Sullivan Show” and continues through Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band to Abbey Road. The stage production includes meticulously recreated costumes that reflect every era of the Beatles’ career.

The Beatles hold the record for the most No. 1 singles on the Billboard Top 40 chart with twenty. For one week in 1964, the Beatles held the top five spots on the Top 40 with “Can’t Buy Me Love,” “Twist and Shout,” “She Loves You,” “I Want to Hold Your Hand,” and “Please Please Me.”

The Fab Four have travelled the world performing classic Beatles’ hits, and the group’s unparalleled precision and Emmy award-winning performance recaptures the excitement and sounds of this legendary band.

Tickets start at $20 and go on sale to the public Thursday, January 16 at and the Main Players Club Box Office.

The Cult- Electric 13 World Tour at Cain's Ballroom

The Cult – Electric 13 World Tour Born out of the ashes of the UK post-punk scene, The Cult evolved to become one of the most influential and controversial rock bands of the late 20th century, selling millions of albums, headlining arenas and stadiums around the world, infusing innovative possibilities into the worlds of music and art, and quickly ascending through the ranks of the indie music world to achieve global status. As early as its first American tour in 1984, The Cult became one of the handful of important bands in the U.S. post-modern and hard rock communities. The band was embraced by the lost children of The Doors and Velvet Underground, and a generation that was waking up to the influence of 60s and 70s rock icons like Led Zeppelin, The New York Dolls and David Bowie.Formed in Brixton, London in 1983 as Death Cult, The Cult's music transformed from punk rock to post-punk, psychedelia, heavy dance music, and transcendental hard rock. As one journalist noted, "Using a few simple riffs and images, The Cult creates an entire environment, one more exciting and stimulating than our own."And that may just be what separates The Cult from other artists. Imagery is all-important to vocalist/lyricist Ian Astbury, imagery in the music and in the art that accompanies the Cult's projects. Astbury is attracted to words and the image that each word creates. He is engaged by the power of nature, folklore, the concept of destiny, animal power symbols, the survival of the species, spirituality, and certainly the Native American myth and culture, a subject of many of The Cult's songs. The constant core of The Cult is Astbury and guitarist/composer Billy Duffy. Attitude incarnate, the chemistry between these two vastly different artists - equal-parts genuine affection and palpable tension - remains the source of their long-standing partnership. Duffy grounds Astbury's esoteric side with a hard rock perspective, and there is no doubt that at all times, these two have each other's backs. Suicidal Tendencies: Slam City Tour at Cain's Ballroom

SUICIDAL TENDENCIES: Slam City Tour with Terror, Trash Talk, The Inspector Cluzo

Judging from their name, Suicidal Tendencies were never afraid of a little controversy.

Formed in Venice, CA, during the early '80s, the group's leader from the beginning was outspoken vocalist Mike Muir. The outfit specialized in vicious hardcore early on -- building a huge following among skateboarders, lending a major hand in the creation of skatepunk -- before turning their focus eventually to thrash metal.

Early on, the group (whose original lineup included Muir, guitarist Grant Estes, bassist Louiche Mayorga, and drummer Amery Smith) found it increasingly difficult to book shows, due to rumors of its members' affiliation with local gangs and consistent violence at their performances. The underground buzz regarding Suicidal Tendencies grew too loud for labels to ignore though, as the quartet signed on with the indie label Frontier; issuing Muir and company's classic self-titled debut in 1983. The album quickly became the best-selling hardcore album up to that point; its best-known track, "Institutionalized," was one of the first hardcore punk videos to receive substantial airplay on MTV, and was eventually used in the Emilio Estevez cult classic movie Repo Man, as well as in an episode for the hit TV show Miami Vice (for which the group made a cameo appearance). Muir formed a new version of Suicidal Tendencies in the late '90s (with Clark being the only other familiar face), resulting in such further studio releases as 1999's Freedumb and 2000's Free Your Soul and Save My Mind. Muir and Trujillo joined forces once more for a fourth Infectious Grooves studio release in 2000, Mas Borracho; while another Cyco Miko release surfaced, Schizophrenic Born Again Problem Child, along with a follow-up up to their earlier compilation, Friends & Family, Vol. 2. Now the band will be back with their brand new album for 2009.......
