Sample of mosquitos test positive for West Nile in Tulsa County

TULSA, Okla. — Officials with the Tulsa Health Department confirms that a portion of mosquitos from a trap have tested positive for West Nile virus.

So far, there have been no confirmed cases of West Nile in humans.

THD sets traps weekly across Tulsa County, and tests for mosquito-borne illnesses. July through October are usually the highest risk of exposure to the West Nile virus. Testing begins in May.
