Thanksgiving travelers report short lines at Tulsa International Airport

TULSA, Okla. — It was an early wake-up call for those catching Thanksgiving flights at Tulsa International Airport Wednesday morning.

Travelers packed the airport on the busiest travel day of the year, and all the departure flights were on time.

“He’s all excited, going to see his cousins and my little brother out in California,” said traveler Myron.

“We’re going to Galveston, Texas to spend Thanksgiving with his family. We’re flying into Houston and my parents are picking us up. We’ll be there for three days and just beaching, and relaxing, and spending time with family,” said Scott and Jasmine Newell.

While TSA checkpoints are overwhelmed across the country, travelers at TIA made it through the line with ease.

“We decided to go to the beach and the warm weather for our Thanksgiving this year,” said Marcie, as she stood with her granddaughter Ryleigh.

“We’re traveling to Columbia, South Carolina for the holidays,” said Brandon Praylow as he held his nine-month-old baby boy.

Most travelers arrived two hours before their departure.

“It’s gonna be the kids’ first time seeing the great grandparents so we are super excited for that and yeah, it’s gonna be a fun Thanksgiving,” said Praylow.
