The dispute happened late Wednesday night at a west Tulsa home.

TULSA, Okla. — A teen was shot in the leg following a domestic dispute involving the teen’s child at a Tulsa home on Wednesday night.

Tulsa police said the teen went to visit with the child’s mother and her family at their home on South 41st West Avenue.

When the teen father knocked on the door, the mother’s grandfather answered and said the child and mother weren’t home.

An altercation ensued with the grandfather which led to the teen being shot in the leg, police said.

The teen reportedly ran back to his home which was located just around the corner and called Tulsa police.

Police were able to arrest the grandfather without issue. The teen was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The grandfather may face charges including shooting with intent to kill, according to police.

The investigation remains ongoing.
