Warrant issued for man who assaulted police officer in escape from court

Cory Alan Rone was ordered into custody during a hearing on Friday when he ran away.

MUSKOGEE, Okla. — Police are looking for a man who ran away during a court appearance on Friday.

Muskogee County District Attorney Orvil Loge says the court ordered Cory Alan Rone into custody during a hearing on Friday afternoon and Rone ran away.

Loge says Rone assaulted a police officer, causing “serious injury” during his escape.

Authorities issued a warrant for Rone’s arrest on complaints of Escape from Lawful Detention, and Assault and Battery on a Police Officer.

He’s suspected to be driving a grey Ford Escort with Oklahoma License No. ECL650.

Anyone who comes in contact with Rone is asked to call law enforcement.
