TULSA, Okla. — The Darryl Starbird National Rod & Custom Car Show is taking place in Tulsa this weekend.
The event takes place at Expo Square, near 21st and Yale, and lasts until Sunday at 6 p.m.
More than 1000 cars are on display at the event.
One girl at the event, Ella Ripper, said her favorite part was “looking at cool cars.”
Ripper also said her favorite car was her aunt’s orange and white Camaro.
James Battles. Jr., has one of his cars at the show, a 2016 purple Dodge Challenger Hellcat.
Battles said the car holds a lot of meaning to him, as he bought it while healing from injuries in Afghanistan, something he earned a Purple Heart for.
Battles said the event is a must-see.
“Everybody in the community needs to come out and see these cars. People put a lot of blood, sweat and tears, money into these cars, and I mean every car has a story to it,” he said.
