Suspect killed in west Tulsa officer-involved shooting

Update: Tulsa police identified the suspect as 21-year-old Elmer Vargas.

Tulsa police said a suspect was shot and killed by officers near Gilcrease Museum Road and Highway 412 Wednesday afternoon.

According to Tulsa police, multiple 911 calls came in just before 4pm reporting that a man was shooting at people and cars.

TPD said an officer quickly arrived on the scene and witnessed the suspect firing shots.

We’re told the officer opened fire on the suspect.

TPD said the suspect was shot and killed.
